Comment: Met my husband, Tom, while attending Montevallo. We will be married 40 yrs. later this year. He is retired now from Intergraph but is Music Director at St. Matthew's Epis.Ch. My life is kept busy raising our deceased daughter, Amanda's two girls, Molly and Sarah, whom we adopted. I also weekly babysit our son, Stephen's son, Ethan.


In the past my husband and I were heavily involved in the theater and music community in Decatur, AL. We did anything we could to promote the Arts for many years. My husband was the director/actor and I did publicity, props and costumes.


I have enjoyed getting involved in family research and have found many new cousins and friends thru this hobby. I formally had an antique store and now just have an antique booth in a local antique mall.


The whole family gets up to our place at Lake Tansi, TN when we can.

After graduating from Berry, I attended Auburn and majored in Building Construction.  I joined the IIKA Fraternity which might account for why I did not graduate until 1975.  I met my wife (Marynet) while working on a job site in Anniston, AL.  We have been married 32 fantastic years and have 3 great kids and 1 grandson.  I work for Hoar Construction, LLC and run their Tennessee Division which is located in Brentwood, TN.  We mainly build Hospitals.  My favorite hobby is golf.

Comment: An interesting journey since Berry where I went onto Auburn to supervise Gerald until '73 graduation. His blog seems benign but he was a hellian! Went into child welfare for the good State of Alabama for the next 30 years and enjoyed getting paid for something I loved. Home is now Florida where I am able to be a part of my 9 month old Hunter's life as his Gran. I was blessed with one (1) gorgeous redhead who got her hellian genes from her Uncle Gerald and has since morphed into someone who amazes me.  Looking forward to the reunion and laughing, dancing, and fellowshiping with some pretty remarkable people.

  Let me correct  and embellish my profile since you guys have taken the liberty. I have nine grandchildren and one on the way.                                                          After Berry I floundered until I turned my life over to The Lord Jesus Christ in 1975. Drugs and alcohol almost destroyed me. I married and we had 3 wonderful children who are all saved and are active in their respective churches. I worked 33 years with AT&T enjoying a mundane career and 28 years with The Air National Guard where I was a Master Sergeant in The Intelligence Field.                                    I  then was divorced and now have married a wonderful woman thus adding another daughter, son and two more grandsons. Life is good. God is good!

I wasn't much of a student in high school but after I found my passion, I loved learning and just kept going to school. I've been a pediatric Physical Therapist for 35 years (mostly with babies and toddlers) and have been doing research in this field for the past 10 years after completing my PhD in Developmental Psychology. I live on a farm in Shelby county, have over 50 animals and consider myself a "Born Again Redneck". When I'm not riding horses, I am playing tennis or the violin. I have been blessed.

After graduation, I set sails for The University of Alabama, pledged Sigma Nu and loved college life. Patti (Porter, from Shades Valley) and I met on a blind date, married in 1974 and had 3 wonderful boys. Wes, our eldest, graduated from Auburn and Patrick, who graduated from Alabama are both working and living in Birmingham. We lost our third child, Jamie while he was attending Alabama…..But not to worry. We know where he is and will be with him again in God’s time…. Patti and I own and run Architectural Finishes, a business which provides window coverings for residential and business use. When I’m not working, I try to get in an occasional game of golf, and have a beer with friends while keeping God and church close to heart.

Served in U.S. Army from 70 to 73. Have freelanced for CBS, ESPN and was a freelance photographer for various papers covering Alabama football. Received an Emmy for work covering oil spill in gulf. Have been married for 24 years after losing first wife to breast cancer.
