Comment:

Moved to Atlanta 39 years ago after becoming Mrs Otto Mooney, III

My husband Skip was also a Berry grad, class of 1965

Skip was employed with Delta Air Lines his entire career which allowed us to travel frequently

I've been fortunate to hold challenging positions in the property and casualty insurance field for 32 years, becoming a partner in a start up firm in 2007

These days my time away from the office finds me catering to Skip's pampered 20 pound cat, attempting to keep up with yard work, volunteering in my parish, Immaculate Heart of Mary, and enjoying the company of family and friends

My bessings are more than I deserve; my sorrows, too few to be needle movers

That one year with IIKA was a great experience! Started a career in sales in '75, married in '76 and moved to Montgomery in '77 where I have been ever since...had a beautiful daughter in '85, divorced in '89, remarried in '90 to my wife Joy who has two now grown sons...Cort is a geologist with Baker-Hughes in Houston and has two sons (14 & 11) here in Mtgy...Justin lives in Oneonta with his wife Bonnie who is an attorney and they have a 2 year old son, Padric and 1 month old daughter, Emmy...daughter Merritt graduated from Auburn, married in '08 and moved to Macon where her husband has his own mortgage business and she works for Stryker Corp in surgical sales...I have worked for the Alabama State Senate for the last 26 years and looking forward to retiring in 4 years and hit the links and the highways...life has been a great ride.

Comment: My husband, Steve, and I, have been married for almost 28 years. We recently sold our timber farm, in rural south Georgia, to purchase a larger timber farm, in middle Georgia, near Lake Sinclair & are in the process of building a new home, there. We have 8 grandchildren in central Florida & 1 great granddaughter. All members of my immediate family, are deceased. I still have cousins and good friends in the Birmingham area. Our primary focus is growing timber, and being good land stewards, but also provide habitat for abundant wildlife. We are truly fortunate to have retired, early & be in good health, to enjoy life.

Comment:

I cannot believe that it has been 40 years.  I suppose some catching up is in order.  I attended Auburn University, leaving in my junior year after getting married (Jim Noland '67).  Jim was commissioned a Navy Ensign and off we went to see the world.  We have moved 13 times in our 39 years together.  Jim retired from the Navy in 1992 and flies for Southwest Airlines.  He just traded an F-18 for a 737.   It is very hard to keep him on the ground  I on the other hand, finished college, reared two little boys, and taught middle school science for 20 years in 5 states.  We have two beautiful grandsons in Macon, Georgia.  Their dad is an attorney and their mom stays home with them.  Our other son lives in San Diego, CA with his best friend, Crystal.  He is a Hair Stylist with Paul Mitchell Inc,. and she is 2 semesters from her RN.  Jim and I have settled on a large lake on the North Carolina - Virginia border, Lake Gaston.  We refuse to move again and why would we want to;

our backyard is a beautiful lake with over 300 miles of shoreline.  We have critters and every possible kind of water bird.  The racoons get in the garbage, the possums are not always friendly, the deer eat my azaleas, the Canada Geese poop in my yard and we wouldn't live anywhere else on the planet.  When Jim is not flying, he fishes and shoots skeet at his gun club.  He is also a member of the local Lions Club and the United Methodist Men.  I ride my jet ski, volunteer at a food bank, garden, represent abused and neglected children in court, play bridge, raise money for Cancer Research, and have a small antique business with a friend.  We enjoy boating and traveling.   We attend a 200 year old White Frame United Methodist Church in Brunswick County Virginia.  We share our home with our kittens, Simon and Garfunkle.  We are very blessed.  We are so looking forward to catching up with all of you.  Hugs, Bev

Comment: Life has been an adventure for me and I have enjoyed almost every minute of it!  After Berry I attended the University of Montevallo and graduated in 1974.  At Monetvallo I was a Delta Chi and met my wife Nida actually on a blind date.  We have been married 37 years and have a wonderful son Matthew ( took us 13 years to figure out how to get babies)  who lives in LA and is trying to become a star!!

I went on to Alabama to get my MBA and own a company that has enjoyed success over the years.  My work forces me to travel quite a bit and I enjoy seeing many places.

Nida and I are looking forward to retiring someday and spending time doing something fun.  We justy aren't sure what that will be.

We are members of Valleydale Church and are active there.  Our family has been very blessed

I look forward to seeing everyone at the Reunion.

Comment: My name is Mike Goebel and I am 58 years old. I am a Motivational Speaker and I live in a van....down by the river.  Now you kids are probably saying to yourselves, I'm going to go out and get the world by the tail and wrap it around and pull it down and put it in my pocket. Well I'm here to tell you that you're probably going to find out as you go out there that you're not going to amount to JACK SQUAT! My hobbies include drag racin, deer huntin at nite, cow tippin, texting while drivin and poppin bubble wrap. My favorite TV shows are America's Most Wanted, Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, Are You Smarter than a 5th Grader and WWF Wrasslin.  I have never been sky divin, bunging jumpin nor had a colonospany.  I have been many great places in my life like Burnt Corn, Al.  Pineapple, Al. Willacoochie, Ga, Bobo, Ms.  Beaver, Ok.  Deep Gap, Tn. and Butztown, Pa. with my cousin Eddie who owns an RV. The three words that best describe me are: effervescent, loquacious, gregarious. I've often wondered who was the first person to look at a cow and say," I think i'll squeeze these dangly things here, and drink whatever comes out?"

Comment: After graduating from Berry I went to Auburn. I was on the long but sure process of finally graduating in 1976. I mainly majored in fun & fraternity(Kappa Sigma) until my parents decided after 4 years if I started paying my grades might get better. Amazingly enough it worked. I got a job in 1978 selling office equipment and have never had the good sense to get out of it. This Jan. 18 I will be starting my 32nd year. I have been in Birmingham my entire carrer except the year I worked in Athens,GA. My biggest vice now is Auburn Football. . Well both events were a blast and I think everyone had a good time, especially Woody. I semi-retired for almost 3 months and enjoyed every moment of it but alias I went back to work on April 5th. Still in the office equipmnt business.Working in Syalacauga and enjoying small town selling again.

Cathy Green

Marital status: Divorced
Occupation: Nursing faculty
Comment: I am finishing up a great career as a registered nurse.   It was a good choice back in '71 and has continued to be a great choice every year since.  I am finishing up in Augusta at the Medical College of Georgia School of Nursing.

At 18 years old I got my 1st needlepoint canvas.  Since then I have learned to design needlepoint canvases and to use very intricate stitches.  I have just recently finished a design studio which has been a dream of mine for 30 years.

I live about 2 miles from the Savannah River.  As often as possible, I go to the river just to drink in the scenes of the woods that lined both sides of the river when my family came through in the 1700s and 1800s.  I have found that I am related to my friends here in Augusta - another story for another time.

For 27 years I have been  part of the Alleluia Christian Community.  I have found a wonderful extended family in Alleluia who have listened to me, corrected me and loved me.  Now, I am caring for my mom in my home with their love and support.

Marital status: Single
Occupation: Presbyterian Minister
Comment:
After graduation, I attended the University of Montevallo and then UAB, where I intended to do premed then med school.  While at UAB I worked a 60 hour per week "part time" job for Central Bank (Compass Bank).  Also during my two college pilgrimage I helped to establish Bible study ministries at both schools. ( I came to really know Christ in August of 1969 just prior to college.). During college,  God used a number of events to lead me into the ministry.  In 1973 I graduated and began studies at Reformed Theological Seminary, graduating in 1976.  My ministry has included  over ten years of teaching in Christian schools, five years of missions work in Belize Central America and the founding of a very large campus ministry, Reformed University Fellowship, at Auburn University.  I'm currently the pastor of a small Presbyterian Church in rural southern Mississippi. and doing a lot of mentoring of young adults by phone, text and email!
