Comment: After graduating from the University of Alabama in 1973 I moved to Atlanta for a few years and worked in banking. I married my husband Zack while in Atlanta and we have 2 children. Kevin, who is 32, is married and he and his wife have a little one year old girl, Adelyn.They live here in Birmingham so we get to see them all the time. We love being grandparents! Katie, who is 27, lives in New York City and got married there this past summer to a young man from England. We had fun planning a wedding long distance and enjoyed having our friends and family in NY and meeting his family from England for the first time.


Zack and I own a mortgage company in Riverchase and it keeps us very busy with about 250 employees. We feel fortunate to still be around after everything that's happened in the mortgage industry.


We love to travel to NY and the beach and if we ever retire, we plan to do more of it!

Graduated UAB, 20-year former career in marketing at AFFCU,  plus 21 years at OMMS; being around middle schoolers keeps you young at heart!  Married to Phil Rucker 41 years, two children, Meredith -34 & Zach - 32.  Passionately involved in advocacy for persons with disabilities since Meredith was born with Down syndrome; honored to have contributed to significant changes in education and inclusive practices in Shelby County!   Hair also greatly improved since 1969!

Comment: We have a step-granddaughter (13) and grandson just a year old.  Being a grandparent is so much fun!  My husband is retired from textiles and hope that I can retire from banking before too long.  It has been fun going through the new website and am hate we could not be at the reunion but already had a trip planned to Cumming, Ga that weekend- my grandson wasl be a year old on April 13 and my son was 29 on April 17th.  I am sure the reunion was great and I appreciate the time all of you put into the website - it's been great reading about all of our classmates.

After Berry, I attended Montevallo for 1 semester, Un. of Alabama for 2 1/2 years, married Randy Hiam (Ramsay class of 1968) and moved to Texas. Finished my degree at Un. of No. Texas. We've lived in the Dallas area since that time. We'll celebrate our 38th anniversary in June. Where did the time go? Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Comment: Life has been fantastic and I will share some of the highlights.  Big news!  I am a new MOM!  Dave and I adopted the most amazing little girl from Tanzania, East Africa.  She has been with us 3 years and is now 10 yers old.  She will be at the reunion.  Between the ages of 50 and 55 I did one big adventure a year.  For 50 I climbed the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day,  51 I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro,  52 went gorilla trekking in Uganda, 53 hiked the Inca trail in Peru, 54 went sky diving, and 55 adopted a child.  I figured I could not top that so she is my big adventure for years to come.  I've now been married for 16 wonderful years.   I did not get married until I was 43 years old.  Before that I was  happily single, living in New York City.  Since then we have lived in Delray Beach, FL, Taos, New Mexco and now in western Massachusetts in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains.  Oh, two weeks ago I became a grand mother.  My step sone and his wife had a beautiful babyt girl. That's it in a nut shell!  Look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and thanks to all who have worked so hard to organize the festivities!
