I really enjoyed the reunion; it was nice to re-connect with so many folks.  After graduation, I went to the University of Tennessee and obtained a degree in Education, majoring in Math & Science, and married in 1973.   Never really wanted to teach, so worked as a bookkeeper for a couple of years, then went back to school.  After taking some undergraduate Engineering classes, I received a Master of Science, major in Structural Engineering.  Did that for a few years, then had John Darling, Jr. and stayed home to play Mom for a couple of years.  When I went back to work in 1984, I ended up in Environmental Management.  In 1985 I was divorced; in 1990 I married Mike Shelton and his 2 children, Lisa and Todd.  Blending families was quite a challange!  Career went well, family went well, then in 1999 my son died in a 1-car accident at 17 years old.  In 2001 I was diagnosed with uterine cancer but with prompt surgery and radiation treatments, have remained cancer-free.  In 2003 I took early retirement and we moved to the country into a home on Watts Bar Lake.  I took the UT Extension training for Master Gardener and have been active in my county program.  Also have a passion for daylilies and have accumulated a pretty nice collection!  I like retirement!  Mike continues to work off-and-on as a consultant.  We have a couple of dogs and a couple of boats, and really enjoy life on the lake!

I have 4 children.  Two live here, one in Tuscaloosa and one in Nashville.  We have 6 grandchildren, 3 girls and 3 boys.  We are very blessed.

I'm very disappointed to miss this reunion, but congratulate our classmates on the reunion committee for creating this wonderful website to enable us to keep in touch and participate somewhat in the reunion news and events.�





The "now" photo is a family photo from Christmas 2009 of my mother who just turned 80 (!), our son, Robert, me, my beloved husband of over 32 years, John, and our daughter, Rachel, and her fiance, Michael.� Rachel and Michael will be married in May, and pre-wedding celebrations are the reason I wil not be at the reunion in person.�





My best wishes are there, however, and as the years go by, I appreciate more and more the many friendships and shared experiences that helped to shape us into the adults we are today.� Could we have imagined in 1969 that so many of us would be proud grandparents, or that we would be staying in touch via something called the internet - who knew my typing classes would have been so important?� Go Bucs!� Love, Ramona

Comment: I left Berry in 1967 to attend Marion Military Institute.  After graduating from Marion in 1969 with many others that had attended Berry, I went on to Auburn.  I graduated from Auburn in 1974.  I have a daughter, Alison who is married and lives in Trussville.  I'm a tree hugger and enjoy saving rivers, canoeing, kayaking, backpacking and camping.  When not outdoors, I enjoy cooking.
