Comment:
Married to David Hills (Banks High and Auburn University). Graduated from Auburn University with a BS in Textile Science. Later, worked on an MS in Textile Science at Auburn and MS in Accounting at University of North Texas. Dave's job as an electrical engineer at Texas Instruments took us to Dallas, where we've been the whole time except for 8 years in Austin. Now we're on a farm outside of Dallas and enjoying having our sanctuary away from the city, but being close enough to have access to what we need. Our son Jason just graduated from the University of North Texas and is now in graduate school at the University of Texas at Dallas. My career has been varied, including being an accountant and an IT manager; leading the creation of JCPenney.com; being an Internet consultant and later the intranet executive at Dell Computer; serving as an executive strategy consultant at Cisco Systems; and now being a professional speaker and non-profit CEO. I've written three books ranging from intranets to women's heart health, with a 4th book in the works. My foray from the corporate world into the non-profit world came from almost dying twice in the same year, first during an emergency heart procedure and later from blood clots and a near stroke due to atrial fibrillation, the most common irregular heartbeat. That same year, I participated in Leadership Texas, which drove me to find a way to make a difference. After surgery to cure my atrial fibrillation, I couldn't watch others suffer so I started StopAfib.org, a non-profit patient advocacy organization for those living with atrial fibrillation. Today, I give a voice to the atrial fibrillation community by influencing policy in the US and Europe in order to make a difference for those living with afib. My goal is that by raising awareness of atrial fibrillation we will wipe out strokes caused by it. Hello everyone. Wow, what a long time since high school. Hope you are doing well. Here's my update if you are interested: I graduated from Jacksonville State Univ. in 1973. Went to work for First National Bank of Anniston where I became supervisor of the Accounting Dept. I left in 1983 and went to work for a financial industry computer software company. I left that in 1996 to join two of my brothers in our own construction company, DWT Construction. I retired January 1, 2015. I married our classmate and my high school sweetie, Sue Cone, in 1972. We have 3 children: Brian (a paramedic and firefighter in Pelham), Mark (our musician-a drummer on the local music scene), and Carrie (Alabaster police dept and mom of 3). Five grandkids so far & hoping for more (quiver is not quite full). We live in Alabaster. Nothing else to report but I would love to hear from you. hit me up on e-mail (rwu1972@hotmail.com). Best wishes to you all. |

Comment: Where has the time gone? We're all getting old-no, some of us are already there! Looking forward to seeing you at the reunion.Went to Arkansas State University on a track scholarship graduating with a business degree in 1973. Retuned to Atlanta working in sales management with Colgate-Palmolive(Regional),Allied Van Lines(National) and Sporting Clubs of America (National) before starting a sports special events company in 1988. Started a second company in 1995 producing bridal shows in the Southeast. We are now the largest in the SE. and one of the largest in the country. I serve on two industry Boards and give seminars traveling more than I like. It has put alot of gray hairs on me (at least I have my own hair, and my own teeth), the Lord has been very good...I am now planning our daughters wedding in May. She is an attorney in Pasadena,Calif. after attending Samford then Pepperdine University Law School. My wife has 25 years with the Gwinnett County Government and we live in Braselton, Ga. splitting time between our mountain cabin in Blairsville Ga. and our condo in Savannah. We enjoy traveling in Europe and taking cruises there (or anywhere). We're very active in our church and are very thankful for all that the Lord has done for us. See you soon... |

Met my husband, Tom, while attending Montevallo. We will be married 40 yrs. later this year. He is retired now from Intergraph but is Music Director at St. Matthew's Epis.Ch. My life is kept busy raising our deceased daughter, Amanda's two girls, Molly and Sarah, whom we adopted. I also weekly babysit our son, Stephen's son, Ethan. In the past my husband and I were heavily involved in the theater and music community in Decatur, AL. We did anything we could to promote the Arts for many years. My husband was the director/actor and I did publicity, props and costumes. I have enjoyed getting involved in family research and have found many new cousins and friends thru this hobby. I formally had an antique store and now just have an antique booth in a local antique mall. The whole family gets up to our place at Lake Tansi, TN when we can. |

After graduating from Berry, I attended Auburn and majored in Building Construction. I joined the IIKA Fraternity which might account for why I did not graduate until 1975. I met my wife (Marynet) while working on a job site in Anniston, AL. We have been married 32 fantastic years and have 3 great kids and 1 grandson. I work for Hoar Construction, LLC and run their Tennessee Division which is located in Brentwood, TN. We mainly build Hospitals. My favorite hobby is golf. |
