Comment: I made the mistake a while ago of giving my email address to Classmates.com. While they drive me crazy, the good news is that they led me to this cool WA Berry reunion site. It's great to see how so many of you have lived your lives. It's also sad to see that some of us have passed on. I can't believe that 40 yrs have passed since we left high school. I graduated from Auburn and then left Alabama to attend graduate school at UCLA. I received my Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and moved to Toronto for postdoctoral work. I then moved to Seattle where I worked over a period of twenty-five years for two biotech start-ups that merged into large pharmaceutical companies. I'm now in my third biotech start-up, in San Diego, where I am CSO. Along the way, I have been fortunate to have lived on the cutting edge of experimental biology and to have discovered one marketed drug (Orencia) and a second one that is under review at the FDA. I'm gratified that my the fruits of my work are helping sick people. My personal life has been wonderful: I have been married to my wife, Leslie, for thirty years. She is still working as a psychotherapist in Seattle, and we take turns commuting between Seattle and San Diego on the weekends. We have two grown children, both of whom have finished college. Our oldest, Jeremy, is working on a Ph.D. at the University of Michigan; the youngest, Drew, is living and working in Philadelphia. We're proud of them both. No grandchildren yet, though we were excited to get a "granddog" recently. I hope my old friends will contact me (linsleys@comcast.net) and will look me up if they ever are in Seattle or San Diego. I probably won't make it to B'ham for the reunion, but I hope you all enjoy it! |

My husband (Jim) and I have lived in Homewood since graduating from Auburn. Our oldest son Jason, is married and works for GE in Greenville, SC and his brother, Gavin works for AT&T and has settled down in Huntsville after living in Miami, Troy, Atlanta and Stockton, CA. We are so happy to have him back in Alabama. I hate to miss the reunion, but we will be tied up most of the weekend at a friend's rehearsal dinner and wedding. Have a wonderful time!!!! |
