My husband, Steve, and I, have been married for almost 25 years.  We own a large timber farm, in SW Georgia.  We have 8 grandchildren in central Florida.  All members of my immediate family, are deceased.  I still have cousins and good friends in the Birmingham area.  I have a grown stepson, in Auburndale, Fl., whom I consider a son.  As for hobbies, we enjoy our 3 horses, 2 cats & provide for abundant wildlife.  We strive to be good land stewards, with emphasis on timber & wildlife management.  We are truly fortunate to have retired, early & be in good health, to enjoy life, in a small, rural town.  No "big city" life for us!

I cannot believe that it has been 40 years.  I suppose some catching up is in order.  I attended Auburn University, leaving in my junior year after getting married (Jim Noland '67).  Jim was commissioned a Navy Ensign and off we went to see the world.  We have moved 13 times in our 39 years together.  Jim retired from the Navy in 1992 and flies for Southwest Airlines.  He just traded an F-18 for a 737.   It is very hard to keep him on the ground  I on the other hand, finished college, reared two little boys, and taught middle school science for 20 years in 5 states.  We have two beautiful grandsons in Macon, Georgia.  Their dad is an attorney and their mom stays home with them.  Our other son lives in San Diego, CA with his best friend, Crystal.  He is a Hair Stylist with Paul Mitchell Inc,. and she is 2 semesters from her RN.  Jim and I have settled on a large lake on the North Carolina - Virginia border, Lake Gaston.  We refuse to move again and why would we want to;

our backyard is a beautiful lake with over 300 miles of shoreline.  We have critters and every possible kind of water bird.  The racoons get in the garbage, the possums are not always friendly, the deer eat my azaleas, the Canada Geese poop in my yard and we wouldn't live anywhere else on the planet.  When Jim is not flying, he fishes and shoots skeet at his gun club.  He is also a member of the local Lions Club and the United Methodist Men.  I ride my jet ski, volunteer at a food bank, garden, represent abused and neglected children in court, play bridge, raise money for Cancer Research, and have a small antique business with a friend.  We enjoy boating and traveling.   We attend a 200 year old White Frame United Methodist Church in Brunswick County Virginia.  We share our home with our kittens, Simon and Garfunkle.  We are very blessed.  We are so looking forward to catching up with all of you.  Hugs, Bev
