I really enjoyed the reunion; it was nice to re-connect with so many folks.  After graduation, I went to the University of Tennessee and obtained a degree in Education, majoring in Math & Science, and married in 1973.   Never really wanted to teach, so worked as a bookkeeper for a couple of years, then went back to school.  After taking some undergraduate Engineering classes, I received a Master of Science, major in Structural Engineering.  Did that for a few years, then had John Darling, Jr. and stayed home to play Mom for a couple of years.  When I went back to work in 1984, I ended up in Environmental Management.  In 1985 I was divorced; in 1990 I married Mike Shelton and his 2 children, Lisa and Todd.  Blending families was quite a challange!  Career went well, family went well, then in 1999 my son died in a 1-car accident at 17 years old.  In 2001 I was diagnosed with uterine cancer but with prompt surgery and radiation treatments, have remained cancer-free.  In 2003 I took early retirement and we moved to the country into a home on Watts Bar Lake.  I took the UT Extension training for Master Gardener and have been active in my county program.  Also have a passion for daylilies and have accumulated a pretty nice collection!  I like retirement!  Mike continues to work off-and-on as a consultant.  We have a couple of dogs and a couple of boats, and really enjoy life on the lake!
