After Berry I attended Marion Institute Jr. College where I continued playing football.  Then, on to Auburn where I was a IIKA.  Graduated on the 6 year plan.  Met then married my wife, Janice Farnell Hay who was an ADII at Auburn.  Moved to B'ham where I worked in the mortgage business before owning my own Real Estate Appraisal business.  Finally, answered my call to ministry and attended Columbia Theological Seminary.  Ordained in 1984.  Served as Associate Pastor at 1st Presbyterian Church, Selma, AL then Associate Pastor at 1st Presbyterian, Marietta, GA.  Currently Associate Presbytery Executive for Nurture for Presbytery of Sheppards and Lapsley in Birmingham.  Janice and I have two sons:  Robert, Jr. and Kevin.  One grandson Stockton.  Life has been good.

After Berry, I attended Montevallo for 1 semester, Un. of Alabama for 2 1/2 years, married Randy Hiam (Ramsay class of 1968) and moved to Texas. Finished my degree at Un. of No. Texas. We've lived in the Dallas area since that time. We'll celebrate our 38th anniversary in June. Where did the time go? Looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion.

Comment: Life has been fantastic and I will share some of the highlights.  Big news!  I am a new MOM!  Dave and I adopted the most amazing little girl from Tanzania, East Africa.  She has been with us 3 years and is now 10 yers old.  She will be at the reunion.  Between the ages of 50 and 55 I did one big adventure a year.  For 50 I climbed the Grand Canyon rim to rim in one day,  51 I climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro,  52 went gorilla trekking in Uganda, 53 hiked the Inca trail in Peru, 54 went sky diving, and 55 adopted a child.  I figured I could not top that so she is my big adventure for years to come.  I've now been married for 16 wonderful years.   I did not get married until I was 43 years old.  Before that I was  happily single, living in New York City.  Since then we have lived in Delray Beach, FL, Taos, New Mexco and now in western Massachusetts in the beautiful Berkshire Mountains.  Oh, two weeks ago I became a grand mother.  My step sone and his wife had a beautiful babyt girl. That's it in a nut shell!  Look forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and thanks to all who have worked so hard to organize the festivities!

Comment: Still live in the Hoover area and still occasionally play the drums. Love to ride a Harley,jet ski and pontoon boat. I have a small townhouse in town and spend the weekends at Lay Lake. Met my wife at the beach 21 yrs. ago. She was with me at the 20 year reunion. Look forward to seeing everybody.

I attended Georgia Tech, graduating in 1973 with a Mechanical Engineering degree. I married Sherry Sims (a 1968 Berry graduate and a University of Alabama Graduate) in 1971 and we remain HAPPILY married (39 years!) God has blessed our marriage beyond measure. We have four children and four grandchildren, all presently living in Birmingham. All of our children, their spouses, and their spouses’ families are believers! What a blessing!


 


I began my work career in 1973 and have remained with the same company. I am President of Hardy Corporation, the largest Mechanical contracting company in the state. I am a Registered Professional Engineer and we execute design-build and plan & spec work. We are licensed in 12 states, working primarily in the southeast.


 


Sherry and I stay busy in our church, with our family, friends and work. We are looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion and hope that many can attend the breakfast and hear Wales Goebel. I was saved at one of his prayer breakfast meetings in high school so he certainly has a special place in my heart. Hope to see you at all of the events!
